The deadline for implementing the new processes in accordance with the EU deforestation regulation is 31 December 2025, and companies that are not compliant by then will face significant sanctions. These can include fines of at least 4% of annual turnover, the confiscation of products or even temporary sales bans. There is also the threat of exclusion from public tenders and subsidies.
